In this guide, we will walk you through the main sections of setting up a campaign on the third step and demonstrate how to set up a postback URL using Propeller Ads as an example.
1

✅ Domain for URL

In our case, teriob.com is a domain name for the promo link you will drive traffic to.
You can choose a different domain name from the drop-down list.
2

The private domain option lets you choose your own domain.

✅ Promo URL

This section shows the direct link for sending traffic to the GG offer.
Clicking on this link will send you to the landing page you want to promote. Let’s leave it at that for a moment.
3

✅ SmartLink

If you activate SmartLink, traffic that does not match the offer will be redirected to suitable offers.
Who is SmartLink for?
It’s great for beginners, as running offers takes a lot of time to make tests, optimization for campaigns, etc. SmartLink does that for you, so you can save time and increase your money!
4

✅ In the next step, you have to choose your traffic source.

What is a traffic source?
A traffic source is a place or platform where you can purchase traffic. It can be your website or paid traffic sources such as ad networks, Google ads, social media, etc.
You can also leave it empty, but it's provided for your convenience. For example, if you run traffic from different sources to the same campaign, you can track which works best by specifying the traffic source in the settings.
Please see attached document to see a full list of ad networks you can use.

✅ Setting up Postback URL.

Why do you need a postback URL in the first place?
The short answer: is to get detailed statistics on your campaign performance.
You can use an outsource tracker or GG in-house tracking system to get this information.
Please see attached document to see a full list of trackers you can use.
Every time a conversion takes place, Golden Goose sends a postback request containing a unique identifier (ID). Data transfer from Golden Goose to a tracker (or advertising network if you use in-house GG tracking) is carried out with the help of parameters (macros), tracking the fact of conversion and traffic sources.
Let’s see how it works:
  1. A visitor is redirected (through tracking software, if used) to a landing page after clicking on an ad. The URL used is called a campaign URL.
  2. A visitor is redirected (again, through tracking software, if used) to an offer page on the affiliate network side after clicking a CTA button on a landing page. The URL used is called a Promo URL.
  3. An affiliate network activates a postback URL after a visitor performs a conversion action, and postback tracking allows for sending relevant information to the affiliate tracking software (If outsource tracking software is not used, GG sends the information straight to the ad network).
  4. The tracking software automatically activates a traffic source postback URL to report this conversion to a traffic source platform.

Let's look at the example of Propeller Ads:
  1. Choose Propeller Ads as a traffic source from the drop-down list. You'll see how promo URL and Promo URL parameters will be updated.
8

2) Go to the Tracking tab in PropellerAds and select "Other tracker or CPA network".
3) Copy this S2S Postback URL and paste it to the relevant field in your tracker or GG Network account.
9

10

4) Then you have to replace PropellerAds ${SUBID} token (that passes the information about conversions) with the token of your Tracker/ GG network that passes conversions there.
If necessary, you can also change the ${PAYOUT} token (payment for each conversion received from the GG network) to pass the payout for conversion.
Simply put, you should replace the parameters in the propeller ads link with the GG agency's corresponding ones so that the most important information about the actions with the offer is sent to the ad network or tracker software.
11

5) Place the link into your tracker (if you used one) and generate a new Target URL in your tracking system.
6) Copy the link generated in your tracker (Target URL)
111

and paste it to the Target URL field while creating the campaign in PropellerAds.

✅ Currency and other options.

12

Here you can choose the currency you want to be paid and the information that will be sent to postback on our end.
13

✅ TrafficBack URL

What is a TrafficBack URL?
Many MVAS offers will only accept traffic from certain IP ranges (i.e., the ranges used by the mobile carriers the offers were built for). The Traffic Back feature allows you to send all your traffic that doesn't meet the offer's targeting requirements to the campaign URL of your choice.
If you are sure that your traffic meets the requirements of the offer, you can leave this section blank.

✅ Finish your setting

After filling in all the fields, click "Finish" and go to the ad network to set up the campaign and add creatives. We described the process in more detail in our video.
